Police In Niger State Arrest Suspected Armed Robber/ Bandit With 375 Rounds Of AK- 47 Live Ammunition

A  35- year old suspected armed dealer, one Abubakar Adamu,  has been arrested in Niger State  by a  team of Police  Special Anti- Robbery Squads, ( SARS)  attached  to Suleja Area of the State Police Command.

This was contained in a press statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO)  of the  Command, ASP Wasiu Abiodun, and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Minna

The statement added that   on 10th August,  2020,  at about 0200hours and acting on credible intelligence,  SARS Operatives attached to Suleja, arrested one Abubakar Adamu age 35yrs ‘m’ of Kuspa area in Suleja inside a red Honda Civic Car  with Registration Number:  AY 280 KTN, during a stop and search police operation.

He stated further  that when the vehicle was searched, in Uspa area of Suleja local government area of the   state,  that 375 rounds of AK-47 live ammunitions and 7 AK-47 magazines were recovered.

ASP Abiodun, said,  “during  interrogation by the SARS Operatives,  the suspect confessed to be a  member of armed robbery/kidnapping syndicate, who specializes in transporting arms and ammunitions for the syndicate.

He however stated that the  Case is still being investigated by the police while effort is on going to effect the arrest of other members of the gang who are still at large.

This, he said, is with the view to arraign in Court, the  suspected men of the underworld for prosecution  in order to bring members of  the criminal gang to book.
