Police Arrests Man for Stealing, Selling Twin Babies For N150,000

Operatives attached to the Anambra Police Command Special Anti-Cult Unit (SPACS) on Monday arrested one Chijioke Chukwulota, 31, for stealing a twins before selling them to a woman for N150,000.

It was learnt that Chukwulota, a native of Imo State but resides at Uruagu village, Nnewi sold them to one Tina Ibeato, 31, also a native of Imo State. The arrest was made possible about 6pm based on credible intelligence.

Spokesperson of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Haruna Mohammed, explained that the suspect had lured his ex-girlfriend whom he allegedly impregnated and stole the children – a twin baby girls – before selling them.

The babys who were about two months on the 4th August, 2020 after she gave birth to them through a cesarean operation, were sold to the suspect for N150,000 only.

The two suspects have been arrested and the children recovered and are all in good condition of health.

However, investigation is ongoing and the suspects would be charged to court after a descreet investigation.
