The Niger State Government has reiterated it’s commitment to undertake a monumental infrastructure project, involving the construction of 250 kilometers of intra-city roads spanning Minna, Bida, Suleija, and Kontagora LGAs of the state.
Governor Mohammed Bago state this at the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the 44km dual carriageway Bida Ring Road in Bida local government area of the state on Friday.
Governor Umaru Bago emphasized the government’s unrelenting commitment to transforming the state and heralding a new era of prosperity.
The Bida Ring Road, a cornerstone of the Governor’s urban renewal initiatives, promises to be a catalyst for economic growth, employment generation, and enhanced living standards in the region.
It aligns with the broader vision of providing world-class infrastructure to attract investment partners and position the state on the global stage.
The Umaru Bago- led administration in the state also promised to bolster security measures and enhance healthcare as well as infrastructural services across the state.
“The government is determined to shift from subsistence to mechanised farming, with agriculture taking the lead in driving the state’s economy,” the Governor declared
In his opening remarks, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructural Development, Suleiman Umar expressed optimism that the project would alleviate traffic congestion, improve economic activities, and revitalise the town.
According to him, “The Ministry will maintain rigorous supervision and monitoring to ensure the project’s successful execution.”
Similarly, the Managing Director of Arab Contractors, Mohammed El-Edarous, gave an assurance of delivering a high-quality job within the stipulated timeline, instilling confidence in the government and the people of Niger State.
In a notable move, the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Daji, represented by his Deputy, Mrs. Afiniki Eunice Dauda, advocated the reinstatement of toll gates across the state as a means to boost internally Generated Revenue( IGR)
Among the creme of the society present at the occasion was the Senator representing Niger South senatorial Zone at the National Assembly,Abuja, Senator Peter Jiya Nralikali , Saidu Abdullahi, Member representing Bida/Gbako/Katcha Federal Constituency, Aliyu Abdullahi Sabi, Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, and the Chairmen of Lavun and Bida Local Government Councils, including the Galadinman Nupe, Aliyu Danjuma, who represented the Etsu Nupe his Royal highness Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar.
