NCC: 2023 Talent Hunt Hackathon Crowns Tech Pioneers With N10 Million Prizes

In a grand finale and display of innovation and technological prowess, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on Thursday, hosted the 2023 NCC Talent Hunt Research through Hackathon.

The event, which drew attendees from various Geopolitical Zones, showcased the determination of participants to drive innovation and expansion in the ever-evolving technology landscape.

Another major highlight of the event was the announcement of winners in the competitive Hackathon. Out of 81 entries, 12 were shortlisted to participate, and the winners emerged from three thematic categories:

Blockchain Solution Category: Know-Now Limited claimed victory, earning a prestigious N10 million prize.

Renewable Energy Solutions Category: Solaris GreenTech Hub secured the top spot and received a well-deserved N10 million prize.

Assistive Technology Solutions Category: Spex Care Limited emerged as the winner, also receiving a coveted N10 million prize.

The other nine innovators who participated in the contest received a commendable N500,000 consolation prize, along with certificates of commendation for their outstanding efforts.

Prof. Mohammed Hajiya, Chairman of the Panel of Judges for the Hackathon, who announced the winners, commended the NCC for its commitment to promoting technological innovation.

He applauded the winners and all participants, encouraging them to leverage their solutions to contribute to the development of the Nigerian economy.

In his remarks, the Director of Research and Development NCC, Alhaji Ismail Adedigba, reiterated NCC’s commitment to bridging the gap between Tech Hubs and the Telecom industry. He emphasized the Commission’s dedication to encouraging innovative research that not only mirrors global innovations but also tailors them to local contexts.
