Mad Stray Cow Kills Baby, Injures Mother On Ebrumede

A strayed cow has reportedly killed a three-month-old baby and seriously injured his mother at the Ebrumede community in Effurun area of Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State.

The incident which took place on Monday threw the entire community into panic and pandemonium.

According to a source, the cow was said to have been led by two herdsmen to the buyer, when suddenly it attacked a woman who had the baby strapped to her back.

It was learnt that while the baby died on the spot, the mother sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Reacting to the development, the Delta State Police spokesperson, DSP Edafe Bright said the matter was resolved immediately it happened and everybody has gone his own way

“We don’t want a situation where people would be angered and start attacking the Fulanis. What I can tell you is that the matter has been resolved immediately and peacefully.” DSP Edafe added.
