The Lamgbasa community in Eti Osa East Local Government Area of Lagos State has got its first traditional ruler.
Oba Hafeez Olakunle Badiru, the Elejigbo of Langbasa, Kajerojaiye 1 was installed in an historic event to oversee the affairs of the community and ensure peace and development.
Meanwhile, the community is hopeful, expecting rapid development in social amenities and education during the reign of the Elejigbo of Langbasa.
The monarch has however secured admissions for ten indigenes of his domain at the Lagos State University to study various courses according to Dr. Kolade Adams, Secretary to the Coronation Committee.
Furthermore, Chief Adeyinka Oshekoya, Baale of Akungba Eti-Osa Local Government, also urged the Oba to pay more attention to the needs of the people of Langbasa. He added that “The
community sure has a monarch who would listen to the people and ensure good leadership.”
As the first crowned Oba in Eti-Osa East, the people will expect more from the former civil
servant such that he can ensure the provision of basic amenities are provided by the state government as led by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
In his own word, the Aare Babalaje Falola of Ejigbo, “We the community
members are expecting him to have a good relationship with the government so as to enhance
development in Eti-Osa. I know him to be a honest and humble man and we expect him to do the right thing and bring success and development to the community.
According to Honorable Biliahmin Samson Arobiade, the Executive Vice Chairman of Eti-Osa East Local Government Area of Lagos State, “His Royal Majesty, Oba Hafeez Badiru has been performing well in the past. He is a leader of the people, a leader of reliance, a leader who consults his followers before taking a step, a leader who has a sense of responsibility, who has passion for his people, I pray he will continue to succeed in his future roles.”
