Group Holds Capacity Building Workshop For E-Waste Handlers In Lagos

A Non- Governmental Organisation, E-waste Relief Foundation (ERF) has concluded arrangements to hold a workshop on e-waste management tomorrow Wednesday in Lagos.

In a release made available to National Wire which was signed by Dr. Ifeanyi Ochongor, President, E-Waste Relief Foundation, the enlightenment seminar tagged “LAGOS E-WASTE HANDLERS CAPACITY ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMME” (LEHCEP) holds Wednesday.

The organisation focuses on tackling the electronic-waste (e-waste) crisis within Nigeria and the West African sub region.
It also aims to bring about great relief in the effort to sanitise electronic waste management in the country.

The ERF is established to support the Nigerian government, both at national and state levels, in protecting the environment from dangerous elements such as lead, mercury and other harmful materials which are constantly released into the soil and atmosphere as a result of the improper handling and disposal of electronic waste in Nigeria. more so, to assist in providing nationwide environmental capacity building and expertise in collection, handling and environmentally friendly disposal of electronic waste.

The event is to hold at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research Centre, Yaba, Lagos, by 10.00am.
