GOC 81 Division To Flag Off Exercise STILL WATER In Lagos

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), Maj Gen Lawrence Fejokwu will on Monday, 4th October, flag off a three-week military exercise in Lagos and Ogun state tagged: Exercise STILL WATER.

The event would take place at the Digital Brigade Institution (Old Nitel Training School) No 1, Nitel Road, Oshodi Road, Lagos.

It was learnt that the exercise is met to enhance military professionalism and curb prevalent security challenges within its area of responsibility such as banditary, kidnapping, armed robbery, ritual killings and pipeline vandalism.

The exercise scheduled to hold between October 4 to October 23, will be jointly conducted with the Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Airforce and other security agencies.

In a statement by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Major Olaniyi Osoba said the exercise is in line with Nigerian Army Training Directive for the year 2021.

He added that the exercise would involve the movement of troops and military equipment within Lagos and Ogun states respectively.

As a result, he admonished citizens of the states and it’s environs not to panic seeing such movements and sundry military exercises within the period.

As part of the exercise, there would be free medical services to the benefit of host Community.
