…With water point hand washing machine
In a bid to curtailed the COVID-19 pandemic, the 9 Brigade has supports Ikeja Army cantonment community with water point hand washing machine. The Nigerian Army 9 Brigade launched the new hand washing water point machine project at Ikeja Cantonment, Onigbongbo Barracks to support the community during this period of Corona-virus pandemic in the country.
It was a nice outing on Wednesday, when the General officer Commanding 81 division, Major General JO Irefin, alongside the Nigeria Army 9 Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Musa Awal Ndagi, came to commission the hand washing water point machine for the usefulness of the community,
According to the Project Officer, Major N. F. Echie, he pointed that the washing device was fabricated to tackle the recent spread of Corona-virus, and enable the Cantonment community curb the spread of the virus.
“This hand washing device has one thousand capacity liters of water to serve the users for the period of three days”. We have done it in a way that you don’t need to use your hand to press the water point, you only need to use your foot to press the tap and both soap and water will be released without using your hand. Washing hand regularly can also protect the masses from COVID-19,” he added.
However, the Army 9 Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Musa Awal Ndagi also said: “With the device in place, it’s our believe that COVID-19 coming into the Cantonment will stop once everyone comply with this new water point system. He assured of the leadership of the Force to enlighten the barrack community to wash their hands 20 seconds as prescribed, affirming that any COVID-19 patient coming to the cantonment will be stopped at the gate”.
The general officer commanding 81 division, Major General JO Irefin has commended Ikeja cantonment efforts and also urged them to make sure that at the entrance of all the offices, “There should be a provision for the water and soap including the sanitizer”.
He pleaded that all hands must be on deck to support the Federal Government during the period of COVID-19 pandemic. “Once again I applaud the Ikeja cantonment for a job well done”, Irefin added.
