Nigeria Decide: Army Carry Out Confidence Building Patrol

Troops of the Nigerian Army on Friday morning carried out a confidence Building Patrol along major streets within Lekki general area.

The patrol carried out by 65 Battalion troops criss-crossed Lekki phase 1 and 2, Maroko, New Market, Marwa, Ikate-Elegushi, Ajah under bridge extending to Badore and Akin Adesola in Victoria Island.

It was aimed at building confidence of the civil populace and to assure them of their safety in their various communities ahead of Saturday ‘s general election.

However, the patrol was designed to show the readiness of the Armed Forces not only at providing security during the elections but to provide needed security for the electorates before, during and after the elections.

Meanwhile, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 81 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Obinna Ajunwa had issued a statement assuring the civil populace that troops of the division would conduct their activities professionally to protect the electorates with a view to having a seamless polls on Saturday, 25th February, 2023 during the Presidential Election.
