Information reaching our sources in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital has it that preparations have reached advanced Stages for the retirement programmes of the state Chief Judge, the Hon. Justice Kate Abiri.
As a result, in pursuant to a successful event, the state Judiciary, our sources have quoted is set to hold a valedictory thanksgiving service in honour of the outgoing Chief Judge.
National Wire gathered that the retiring Chief Judge is the longest serving in the chequerred history of the state Judiciary upon the creation of the state in 1996, and that she is the first female to occupy that enviable seat as substantive Chief Judge in the state.
National Wire learnt that the retirement events have been slated to begin on Sunday, 8th January 2023 by 10:00 am at the state headquarters of the retiring CJ’s Church, Greater Evangelism World Crusade, Opolo, Yenagoa.
Other activities scheduled to take place as part of the programmes include, a public lecture which would be held in her honour by 11:00am on Thursday, 12th January, 2023 at the late Chief D.S.P. Alamieyeseigha’s memorial Banquet Hall, Government House, Yenagoa.
Further information gathered by our sources has it that the retirement programmes would be climaxed with a valedictory court session slated to take place on Friday, 13th January 2023 by 10:00 am at the state Judiciary headquarters in Yenagoa, while reception and book presentation would also take place by 1:00 pm at the Chief D.S.P. Alamieyeseigha’s memorial Banquet Hall, Government House.
