ASUU Set To Call Off Strike As 26 Branches Vote In Favour Of Schools’ Resumption

Barring any last minute change in decision, the national leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), is set to call off its eight months old strike, as many branches of the union have voted for the suspension of the strike action.

Most of the ASUU branches, who conducted the exercise Wednesday, voted to suspend the strike conditionally or based on the court order.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of ASUU is already in a meeting today (Thursday, October 13), to decide on the votes by its branches.

As of yesterday evening, 26 branches have voted for the suspension of the strike.
