Odion Ighalo on target for Chinese club

Odion Ighalo netted his fourth league goal of the season which was enough to hand Changchun Yatai a 4-2 victory over Shanghai SIPG at the Development Area Stadium.

The former Watford goal poacher found the back of the net in the 58th minute as a Szabolcs Huszti long pass was dummied by the defenders, providing space for Ighalo who fired past goalkeeper Junling Yan.

Losing Shanghai would have the last laugh scoring the last goal of the game through Shenglong Li in the 66th minute.

The victory was Changchun’s fifth of the season as they moved to the 10th position on the Chinese Super League log with 19 points from 16 games.

Ighalo would be hoping to increase his goal tally to five when they host Guangzhou R&F F.C. in their next game on July 15.
