Ten Arrested For Cultism

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested 10 suspects who partook in cult related activities which led to the disturbance of public peace in Mowe yesterday,Tuesday January,2017.

The men were arrested in various locations in Mowe following the violent cult clash between two rival groups. The groups came to Mowe and unleash mayhem in the area, they vandalized vehicles and made life uncomfortable for innocent residents of the area.

Distress calls were made to the Area Commander, Sagamu and Divisional Police Officer, Mowe leading to the swift deployment of officers to the scene to repelle the assailants.

In the process, ten among the hoodlums were arrested including a female member who investigation revealed is the person whose house they gathered to hold meeting and strategize on how to carryout the attack.

The Area Commander, Sagamu, ACP Issa Gremma, who personally led the operation is still on ground monitoring the situation.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, who has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, warned that violent crime will not have a place in the State. He appealed to parents to warn their children to desist from any criminal act as the Command is all out to deal decisively with anybody caught perpetrating act of criminality. He therefore, advised residents to go about their normal businesses as the Police will deploy everything in its arsenal to ensure their safety all the time.
