The victims were however said to have been set free after their relations allegedly paid over N18million ransom to the kidnappers, as each of the victims relations have allegedly paid not less than about N600,000.
National Wires gathered that the released abuctees were conveyed in a commercial vehicle from the Zamfara and Kaduna States borders and dropped at Doka village in Kaduna state by their abductors from where they were said to have trekked on foot for several kilometers through the bush to the main road.
It was jubilation galore in Kagara town headquarters of Rafi local government area of Niger State when 10 of the released victims who were Christians arrived at their Church premises .
When contacted the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Commissioner CP. Monday Bala Kuryas confirmed the incident, stresdiinh that the victims were released after “Serious dialogue” with their abductors and most probably because of the heat from the military and police operations in the area was getting too hot for the kidnappers.
Bala Kuryas however stated that he cannot confirm if the abductees’ relations and friends paid any ransom to the the bandits to facilitate their release but added that ” I heard something like that”.
However, on Wednesday gunmen suspected to be armed bandits were said to have resumed their operations in the Wushishi and Bosso local government areas of the state following the Kidnapped of three Chinese nationals, while at least three Nigerians working at the Zungeru Hydro Electric Dam, lost their lives after sustaining serious gun shots injuries.
