Monarch Drums Support For Govt, Security Operatives Over Wike’s Curfew.

Paramount ruler of Mbiama community in Ahoada west council area of Rivers state,HRH Otovie Smith Sylvanus has commended the Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike on the imposition of curfew on interstate borders across the state.

He gave the commendation yesterday while speaking with Newsmen on sideline of the nomenclature of the community as one of such border towns in the state.

The monarch stated that the curfew invoked by the government became necessary, even as there have been security breaches, notwithstanding the relative peace enjoyed in the state.

Sylvanus noted that though Mbiama has been peaceful like most parts of the state, the geographic location and entreprenuerial environment of the community makes it susceptible to danger if there were attacks by people of the underworld.

He hinted that as a follow up to the government’s restriction of vehicular and human traffic from 10pm through 6am,the community has also beefed up security with its own vigilante network.

The royal father applauded the police and other security operatives in the area for their professionalism, describing them as some of the greatest assets the country was endowed with.

“As a follow up to the government’s imposition of curfew to checkmate security breaches,we’ve also been complimenting her effort through our community vigilante network”, he said.

“Though Mbiama has been peaceful,no doubt we’re not total free from dangers of attack if there was one here”, he added.

“Already we’ve made announcements on some radio houses here in Rivers state, with regard to our stance on the curfew and the general security of lives and properties here in this community”, the monarch stressed.
